I caught up on Game of Thrones! I don't think I have enough thoughts to pull together that I didn't already have about the books, but I still want to cheer about the show, so have some bullet-point thoughts. Split up by seasons, book spoilers past what's aired are whited out.

The...introduction? disclaimer? part where I walk out slowly with my hands in the air?...to my TVD post for the week got wicked meta, and then off topic, and then just plain out of hand. But it was helpful to work through, I think, so I decided to make it easily linkable. This is what I mean when I say “ the author is boxed.”

This felt like the most uneven book of the series so far. It drags in the beginning and middle, but then the last two hundred pages or so come together even better than the first book, to the point where I think this one ended up being my favorite so far.

So after gnawing away at it for almost a month, I've finished A Game of Thrones. Obviously if you've seen or read it you know it's really disturbing! But we're going to have at it anyway! Content note about all the content!

I finally read The Hunger Games (just Book One, so far) and wow, I haven't seen this much hype lived up to this hard in ages if ever. What a fantastic experience.
